About Dean

Dean M. Donaher is a graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Dean earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College. He earned a Masters in Education from Lehigh University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Management from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dean retired from the Bethlehem Area School District in 2015 after 30 years of service. During his time with the district he taught mathematics, served as an Assistant High School Principal at both Liberty and Freedom High Schools, was Principal of Liberty High School and completed his career as the Director of Student Services.

Dean currently serves as a member of the Bethlehem Area School District Board of School Directors, being elected to a four year, at-large, term in November 2015. He is a Trustee of Northampton Community College, President of the Board of the Five Star Heart Project, a non-profit dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of hard work, discipline, and sacrifice to middle school students through sports. He is the chairperson of the Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church Pastoral Council in Bethlehem and is a member of Bethlehem’s “South Side Vision 20/20” steering committee and co-chair of the Outdoors and Wellness sub-committee.

Dean and his wife Diane have two children. Their daughter, Darah, is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and is currently living in New York City pursuing a career in acting. Their son, Drew, is a senior in the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
